Smita Bansal works in Bollywood movies and Indian Television shows. She has even acted in films of other languages.
Smita completed her schooling from the Indian International School, Jaipur. She got married to Ankush Mohla in December 2000. She has two daughters. Along with her husband, she enrolled into the reality show Nach Baliye 5 and managed to impress one and all with her amazing dancing skills. Ankush is a director and Smita credits a lot of the success in her career to him. The couple however called it quits in 2015 and are now living separately.
Smita made her television debut in the soap Kora Kagaz. She has gained fame for her roles in popular television shows like Amanat, Aashirwad, and Sarhadein. Her Bollywood career includes acting in the 2008 film Karzzzz. She has won the ITA Award for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and the Indian Telly Award was also won by her for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her stellar performances in the Indian serial Balika Vadhu.
She has also acted in the Malayalam movie Daya that was based on One Thousand and One Nights scripted my M.T.Vasudevan Nair. She was last seen in the popular show Balika Vadhu that airs on Colors. She has recently been roped in for the upcoming horror comedy show Zindagi Abhi Baki Hai Mere Ghost that airs on Life OK. This show revolves around a ghost family residing in a haunted house.
She plays the character of Sumitra in Balika Vadhu. In the movie Karzzzz, she plays the role of Himesh Reshammiya’s sister. Her career in Theater includes her performance in Get Rid of My Wife with Paritosh Painter.
