NEET Counselling 2017The counselling of NEET 2017 for admissions to MBBS and BDS seats in All India Quota will begin from July 3 onwards. This is as per the schedule released by the Medical Counselling Committee which can be seen by candidates below. The NEET 2017 Counselling will be conducted in online mode for all those candidates who will qualify for admissions in government medical and dental colleges across India. The counselling of NEET 2017 for All India Quota will be conducted for allotment of around 13,000 MBBS and BDS seats only. States will be conducting separate two-round counselling process for admission to state quota seats in government and private colleges. In order to participate in NEET Counselling 2017, qualified candidates will have to first register themselves for the counselling process during the stipulated period announce, schedule and allotment result etc.

NEET Counselling Schedule 2017

 

Candidates can check below the counselling schedule of NEET 2017 as released by the Medical Counselling Committee after declaration of NEET Results on June 23. The counselling table below mentions the dates on which the online procedure for medical admissions through NEET 2017 will take place through online mode.

All medical aspirants who quallify for medical college admissions through NEET 2017 should note that commencement of MBBS/BDS classes for 2017-18 academic year will begin from August 4.

 

NEET Counselling 2017 for 15% All India Quota seats

 

The counselling of NEET 2017 will be conducted for admissions to seats in government medical and dental colleges, which falls under the category of All India Quota seats. It must be noted that since Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir do not participate in central pool of All India Quota seats, colleges from these states will not be participating in admission under All India Quota seats. Hence, the states will conduct counselling for 100% state quota seats.

NEET 2017 State Counselling

 

The counselling for admission under 85% state quota seats (except in Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Telangana) will be conducted by medical education department or an authority appointed by the state government. It must be noted that according to a Supreme Court directive, counselling for private, central and deemed universities will be done along with the government colleges, which means, state will conduct a common centralized counselling for admissions to all colleges located in that particular state. Further, CBSE will conduct a state merit list for each state and Union territory (UT) and forward it to respective states.

 

The exam conducting authority, CBSE, will also prepare a merit list for participating medical colleges and forward it to concerned medical colleges for counselling process. Allotment of MBBS and BDS seats in Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi will also be done by the respective medical colleges on the basis of NEET 2017 scores.

NEET 2017 Counselling will be conducted in online mode in two rounds only. Guidelines to follow in NEET Counselling 2017

 

Registration

 

During this step of registration, eligible candidates as declared by CBSE will have to register online. Candidates will have to click on ‘New registrations’ tab. Now, candidates will be required to enter their details such as roll number, all India rank and percentile score. After registration, candidates will be allotted a user name and password.

 

Exercising of Choices and Locking

 

During this step, candidates will have to select their choice of medical and dental college where they wish to take admission. During exercising their options, candidates can interchange their opted choices as many times as they want before locking them. Once the choice is locked by the candidates, they cannot be modified. Further, the locked choices will start appearing on candidate’s screen.

 

Round 1- Seat Allotment Process

 

During the seat allotment process, the seats to be allotted to candidates according to their choice of medical and dental college selected will be distributed.

 

Round 1- Counselling Result

 

After the seat allotment process, the result for round 1 of NEET 2017 counselling will be published online in a pdf format. The result will consist of state’s name, institute name, branch, category and total seats.

 

Reporting at alloted medical and dental college against 1st round of counselling

 

After the counselling result will be out, candidates will have to report at the medical and dental college within the stipulated time.

 

NEET 2017 Documents required during the final phase of counselling

 

Candidates without the original documents will not be allowed to take admission under any circumstance. Candidates will have to mandatory bring the list of below mentioned documents for admission to the alloted medical and dental college:

  • Metric Certificate (for date of birth proof)
  • Class XII certificate
  • Passport size 10 photographs (same as affixed on application form)
  • Identity prrof
  • SC/ST proof certificate issued by the competent authority (if applicable)

  • Physically Handicapped Certificate issued by the medical authority as mentioned in NEET 2017 prospectus (if applicable)
