Mini Menon is a famous journalist and a news anchor who focuses mainly on Political, business and economic news. She hails from Jammu and was born in Malayalam family, who belongs to Kerala. Her father late Gen. P E Menon was in the army and Mini has spent most her life across India due to the postings of her father. She even participated in Femina Miss India when she was in the second year of her college and she won the Femina Miss India Asia Pacific title in the year 1996. She graduated in History from the St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and did her masters in Communication and Research from Pune University. She won Chevening Scholarship and went to study Broadcast Journalism in UK.
Mini before becoming the popular face on Indian News channel, participated in the Beauty pageant, where she won the title in her college days. She started her journalism career with TVi and later started working with the Star Network. She later became the news anchor on a show called Goodlife, which was aired in the year 2004 on CNBC TV 18. She even hosted the popular series India’s best-known companies, which was aired on Bloomberg TV where she interviewed a lot of big industrialists and CEO’s. Mini has also created brilliant shows for the TV like the Pitch, and Assignment and she also made a great documentary called ‘In Focus’. After working for more than 16 years Mini has now co-founded her own company known as Indy Network where she will head the company and will also drive the content. Indy Network is a digital media company, which will create niche programming either independently or with collaboration with some other company. Mini has also written a book called as – Riding the Wave, which was published by HarperCollins in the year 2013. The book is for those who are interested in business as it speaks about how these big businessmen used the changing trends in the country to shape the modern industries. Mini has won the award for the best business news anchor award for the year 2008-2009 by the Indian Broadcast Federation and she also won the Rajiv Gandhi award for the excellence as a young achiever.
