Hero Karizma ZMR: An Upgraded Marvel!

The new Hero Karizma ZMR is poised to make the pulse racing.

Of the 15 new upgraded and restyled products unveiled by Hero MotoCorp Ltd. during a press conference in 2013, Karizma ZMR stood head and shoulders above all of them. A perennial favourite among the Hero bike lovers, the bike that had not undergone much change since its inception has now undergone a much-awaited makeover.

The Look:

The spanking new Hero Karizma ZMR, introduced in 2014, is impressive and makes its presence felt, what with its tubular single cradle frame and diamond type chassis. The bike features bright twin headlights, fitted with day-time running lights, a full sporty cowl with ZMR written in a new pattern along with its PGM-FI decals, nicely positioned handlebar, attractive front fender, new muffler cover, restyled fairing, bulb winkers, sporty seating, 18-inch alloy wheels with wider tires and a classic tail light with clear blinkers. The bike comes with self-start option.

The Console:

The new Hero Karizma ZMR is fitted with a brand new instrument console that is not only stunning in looks, but also provides all the information required. It consists of a digital fuel gauge, tachometer and speedometer, two digital trip meters, and low fuel and battery indicators.

The Performance:

The bike does not disappoint on the road. An upgraded 223cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, oil-cooled, OHC-based, fuel-injection engine provides maximum power of 20 BHP at 8000 rpm. It also has a Full Transistorized Ignition System (DC-FTIS). It notches a maximum torque of 19.7 NM at 6500 rpm, which is an improvement on its 2013 sibling by one Nm. The engine is mated to a five speed transmission.

The Ride:

The Karizma ZMR can speed up from 0 to 60 in just 3.6 seconds, which seems quite unbelievable, but is true. It can reach a top speed of 129 kmph. It is comfortable to drive. Overall, the performance of this bike is really amazing in the city as well as on the highway.

The Consumption:

The bike is economical and gives around 40 kmpl in the city and more on highways. This makes the bike perfect for city commuting.

The Safety:

The 276mm disc brakes at the front and 240mm disc brakes at the rear and the suspension system, consisting of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers, at the front and swing arm with adjustable type hydraulic shock absorber at the rear makes the bike safe and stable on the curves. Its broader front tyre of 80/100 18-inch and 120/80 18-inch in the rear adds to the safety of the bike. Both the wheels come equipped with matte-black alloys.
