The Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated this year on 5th September. Even though the Ganesh Chaturthi falls on the 5th September, 2016, it is to be understood that Puja lasts for 11 days. The puja stars from the Shukla Chaturthi and ends in Ananta Chaturthi. The Ganesh Chaturthi falls on 5th September. This is one of the most important Pujas as per the Hindu calendar. However, the Puja Timings should be known very well to appease the deity and the Lord Ganesha. Here are the Puja details for the Ganesh Chaturthi 2016.

Puja Timings

The Tithi of Ganesh Chaturthi begins on 6:54 PM on 4th of September. The Tithi ends at 9:09 PM on 5th September. There are mainly three Pujas that are performed during the Ganesh Chaturthi, Madhyahna Ganesh Puja and in the evening to avoid the moon sighting. These three pujas are very important and here are the timings for the same.

Madhyahna Ganesh Puja should be performed from 11:04 AM to 1:34 PM on 4th September. The total duration of the Puja should be around 2 hours 29 mins.

On the same day, 4th September, at the evening the Puja should be offered and moon sighting should be avoided. The puja should start when the Tithi begins at 6:54 PM. The Puja should continue till 8:30 PM. The Puja Duration should be 1 hour 35 minutes.

On the next day at 5th September, the Puja should be offered from the morning till the evening for Ganesh Puja to appease the God. It should start from 9:16 AM to 9:05 PM till the evening just before the Tithi ends. The puja duration should be of 11 hours 48 minutes.
