Dharamvir Gandhi is an Indian Politician who belongs to the Aam Aadmi Party. He was born on 1 June 1951 and he is also the member of the Parliament from Patiala. He currently came in news when she said that he has decided to field at least 10 candidates in the upcoming assembly elections from his end. He wants to field the candidates who will work for Punjab and will help in managing issues such as drugs, and other state issues like Satluj-Yamuna Link Canal Issues. The seats will be completely selected by Dharamvir and it will have no connections with the Aam Aadmi Party.

Dharamvir started his political career when he was in college and he was detained for a month in Amritsar when he protested against the 1977 Emergency. He then became a cardiologist in Patiala. He later worked as the senior lecturer at the Government Medical College, in the Patiala’s department of Cardiology. He joined politics in the year 2011. The Indian Anti-corruption movement inspired him and he also became an active member of AAP. He also campaigned for the political party during the Delhi Legislative Assembly Election in the year 2013. He later took part in the General Elections in the year 2014 from Patiala and contested from the AAP. He was assaulted during his campaign in the Rasulpur Saiden Area allegedly by Shiromani Akali dal Municipal councilor Rajinder Singh Virk. He defeated Preneet Kaur from the Akali Dal by the margin of more than 20,000 votes and became the member of the Parliament.
