Comparison Samsung Galaxy Note 7 vs. Samsung Galaxy S7

In the world of sheer competition among smartphones, Samsung kind of poses their own competition against themselves. The Samsung Galaxy S7 had been released in March and earlier unveiled in February through an event, and the mid-year flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is set for unveiling on August 2nd by unconfirmed sources, but the date is almost obvious. However, if you are wondering about the Note 6, then the news is – Samsung has skipped the number 6 for their Galaxy Note flagship lineup to match this series with the Galaxy S series. There had been a gap for a long time, and people were faced with confusions in previous time. Samsung’s flagship smartphones now have reached a different dimension when these handsets are truly premium and according to recent reports, the S7 is even outselling iPhone in the US stronghold of iPhones. This is definitely a celebration time for Samsung, and in that account they are merging the generation of Samsung Galaxy Note lineup with Samsung Galaxy S lineup, and we are about to have a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on 2016.

Battles of the Galaxies

The Galaxy Note 7 isn’t officially unveiled yet, but several legit leaks are circulating over the internet. And from the appearance of the Note 7 in those leaks, we are optimistic about them being real.

The design on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is to remain pretty similar to last year’s Galaxy Note 5, and the design methodology is taken from 2016’s flagship Samsung Galaxy S7. The front and back panels are made of Gorilla Glass 4, although they are very strong yet they’d probably create fuss about scuffs and fingerprints. We have heard speculations about the dimension being 153 x 74.5 x 7.8; all in millimeters.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is made of glass and 7000 series aluminum. The design resembles last year’s Galaxy S6, and the dimensions on this device are 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9 mm. It’s the S7 variant whereas the S7 Edge is little bigger on the length and width. Both sides use Corning Gorilla Glass 4; they are sturdy but attracts lots of fingerprints.

Samsung is very well known for using their own made Super AMOLED displays. The display is much power efficient and shows natural blacks like no one else can. On the Samsung Galaxy S7, the display is 5.1 inches and on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the display is 5.5 inches. Both the handsets offer 1440×2560 pixels resulting in above 500 ppi pixel density.

Rumors suggest about a bigger 5.8 or 5.9 inch display for Samsung Galaxy Note 7, however we aren’t so sure about that. Everything else remains same, the company won’t go for a 4K display yet.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 generation is powered with Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 Octa Core CPU in the international variant, and Snapdragon 820 in the international variant. We expect similar configurations to show up in the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as well. The other configurations in S7 are 4 GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage space with expandable microSD card slot and Mali T880/Adreno 530 GPU in Exynos and Snapdragon variants respectively.

However, Snapdragon 821 has been revealed by Qualcomm recently and there could be a variant of Note 7 with Snapdragon 821 CPU.

Samsung introduced their new dual pixel technology through the Galaxy S7 and reduced the megapixel count to 12 MP. The camera has crazy fast focusing in both photo and video, and it’s an ultimate performer in low light due to f/1.7 aperture in both cameras. OIS is a standard feature.

However, we expect the Note 7 will have the same camera as it happens every time. We would be surprised if the Galaxy Note 7 introduces a new camera.

With an expected price tag of around $800 in the US market after it releases, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is going to be one milestone flagship for Samsung. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S7 already offers what it takes to be superior.
