Arvind Kejriwal is a famous Indian Politician, who was most commonly known for his Jan lokpal bill and Indian against corruption. He is also the chief minister of Delhi since February 2015. Kejriwal was born in a family of literate people where everyone in his family was educated and had a white-collar job. Kejriwal is an IITian and he was a mechanical engineer before he got into politics.
Arvind Kejriwal started working in the year 1995, as an Assistant commissioner of Income Tax after he qualified from the Civil Services Examination. Kejriwal was given a two years paid leave in November 2000, to pursue higher education on a condition that after his education he won’t resign for three years, but Kejriwal couldn’t keep upto this condition and later as a fine he had to pay 927,787 Rupees as the dues. In 2011, he joined Anna Hazare and Kiran BEdi to form the India Against Corruption group. In 2012, he started his own political party- Aam Aadmi Party and he fought against corruption and Jan Lokpal Bill. He elected against the then Chief minister Shiela Dixit for the Chief minister position and became the chief minister of Delhi. In 2014, he contested against Narendra Modi for the general lok sabha elections from Varanasi. He lost the counts by a major margin. In 2015, Kejriwal was re-elected as the Chief Minister of Delhi and he defeated Nupur Sharma with high number of votes.
